Football

For the past several months, my Saturdays have been spent coaching my 7 year old’s football team.  It was a long, grueling season, with two practices and a game every week.

The climax was this weekend when we played in the Division 2 Super Bowl at Kimbrough Stadium in Murphy, Tx.  Unfortunately, the mighty Cowboys lost the game 7 to 6!

The one positive of the day was the image I created right before the game.  At this age, the coach is allowed to be in the huddle with the players and stay out on the field to help direct them.  I always got a kick out of how they would stare back at me in the huddle when I was calling the play.  I decided it would make a great photograph, so I brought my camera to the SuperBowl and shot this during the warmups.

Huddle

For me, it really captured the feeling of being in the huddle with these great kids!  Maybe one of them will end up a pro football player and this picture will be worth something.  For now, it just serves as a reminder of one my fondest memories of this football season- being on the field with the D2 Cowboys!

  1. What you do not say is that as good as a photographer as you are, you are just as good as a football coach. It is fun looking into their eyes.
