The Ballet Project

As a photographer, sometimes you have to take a break from client work and just do stuff for yourself.  I am currently working a project where I plan to photograph ballerinas and hopefully come up with a few images for the fine art website (www.lourceyfineart.com).

This weekend, I kicked off the project with some very talented ballerinas.  It is so much fun to work with people that are able to instantly go into the most graceful poses.   We had a great time and I came away with some wonderful images.

Although it is not a typical ballerina photo - I loved how the opening in the door framed the subject.   The light hitting her face was amazing!

For something a little different, I ended up with this one:

Broken

I loved the contrast of the soft, delicate ballerina in front of the rough, weathered brick wall.  Her pose gives the image an almost abstract look.

I’m still recruiting ballerinas for future sessions, so if you know of anyone who would like to model - please send them my way!
