Artistic Escape

I just got back from an incredible art workshop.  We spent the week in the historic town of St. Francisville, Louisiana.  The setting was absolutely incredible.

I stayed at the Butler Greenwood Plantation .  If you ever want to get away from it all for a few days, I couldn’t recommend a better place.  The cabin where I stayed was built in the 1790s!!!

The week was spent travelling around the area visiting historic sites, taking lots of photographs and then returning to the classroom to create paintings from our images.  It was such an inspiring week!

One of our stops was a tour of the Rosedown Plantation - which dates back to the 1730s!!!  Here is a shot of the driveway leading up to the house.

It was a very intense week.  We started each morning around 7 and went until 10 or 11 at night.  There was just so much to see and do - we couldn’t waste time sleeping!  I had a wonderful time honing my art skills and will be adding some of the work to the fine art website soon.
