Love Series
If you are a regular reader of the blog, you will remember the painting I posted a few months back.
It was an abstract piece, based on the Chinese symbol for Love. The painting was part of my Art of Wine exhibit last month and was purchased by a collector in Allen, Tx. When I told her I was planning on doing a series of similar paintings, she told me she would love to get the others and hang them together.
I finished the series a couple of weeks ago and the finished grouping is now hanging in her home.
The series is based on four different symbols for the word Love. Aside from the original Chinese version, the series includes Arabic, Hieroglyphics and the Heart symbol. I tried to stay more or less with the yellow/red color scheme - but it tended to drift a from piece to piece. This was a bit more abstract than my usual work - so it was somewhat of an exercise in creativity. I was quite pleased with the final paintings and even happier to see them hanging together in their new home!
