4040 Project Update

Well the 40@Forty Project is off to a great start - however, we’ve run into one minor glitch…

The images are all being posted on Facebook - to keep this blog from being too clogged with images of me, however it seems a lot of people don’t have Facebook - or don’t want it - so they are missing out.  To make things simpler, I’m going to start posting the images on the blog - as well as on FB - so everyone will have a couple of different ways to keep up.  As long as I’m churning out the self-portraits, I want to make sure people get to see them!

So for all you non-Facebookers… here is a summary of what has happened so far:

First off, if you are unfamiliar with the project, you can read about it here:  http://www.lourceyphoto.com/4040project.html

Week 1:

Since I switched to Mac a couple of months ago, it has taken up a great deal of my time - getting everything converted.  Therefore, I thought it fitting to start week one with an image that paid tribute to my new relationship with Mac.

Week 1

Now for week 2, I decided to go in an entirely different direction.  Although I’ve never been a huge fan of Cubism, I thought I would go for a portrait with a very Picasso-like feel to it.  I ended up with this crazy-looking, but kind of cool image:

Week 2

A little on the creepy side, but an interesting result either way.

Now one other aspect of this project is the “Fellow Forties” offer.  Basically, anyone else who is 40 this year can come in for a free session.  I will choose the best image and give it to them at no charge.  The first brave volunteer was Tracey.  Amazingly, she had not been photographed since she was 24.   She is a big fan of black and white photography, so we decided to go with a very classic, b&w look.

Tracey

I was thrilled with the final image- Tracey looks amazing!

Please leave your comments and let me know what you think of the self-portraits!!!
