Catching Up On 40

I’ve had blog issues lately and have fallen behind on the posting. Figured I better take a minute to post the last couple and bring everyone up to speed.

Week 6 was an image I titled “Blue Moves”

A little on the crazy side, but fun to create. I had to break out the tux for an auction at my kids’ school and figured it would be the perfect outfit for a 40 portrait. I had a completely different concept originally, but came up with this one halfway through the shoot. The original image came out ok, but I liked this one better. You’ll have to wait til the end of the project to see the other one!

Week 7 was a little tougher….

I’m in Montana right now, speaking at their state photography convention. The bad part of this is that I don’t have access to a studio and there were snow flurries yesterday - so outdoors isn’t really an option either. That left me with the hotel itself… which can be limiting.

When I got back to the hotel room last night, I decided to try and setup a shot in my room. I went for a high key look and used the lights in the sink/dressing area to light the shot. Here is what I came up with:

I overexposed the image to the point that most of the detail was gone. It left me with a very clean, simple image - quite the contrast to last week’s shot. I think that is probably a good thing, from a creative standpoint.

Heather commented that I look really young in this shot. I guess at 40, you can never go wrong with looking young!
